Risk awareness and diversification 2.0 taking root – March, 2026
The S&P 500 finished the month down 0.8%, bringing year-to-date returns to 0.7%1. During Mariner’s Crystal Ball Outlook, Jeff Krumpelman, CFA®, outlined 2026 as the year of “Risk Awareness and Diversification 2.0 (RAD),” calling for broader leadership across the market, not just within the index but across asset classes, size and style. So far, that thesis is playing out.
International and emerging markets posted double-digit gains, while mid- and small-cap stocks outperformed their large-cap counterparts, and value outperformed growth.
